Deep Roots — Forest Privacy Covenant
Last updated: June 2025
The oldest trees in the forest keep their age secret — their rings visible only to those who look closely, and even then only to count, never to record. Deep Roots works the same way with your data: we see almost nothing, and what little we observe we never preserve personally.
What the roots hold
The roots hold nothing personal. No visitor's imprint, no woodland record, no device marker is pressed into the soil of our systems. You walk among the ancient trees and the forest does not remember you.
Annual ring records (server logs)
Like the count of a tree's annual rings marking only years passed, our servers may automatically note: browser type, device category, and an anonymised IP fragment. These rings track the forest's age, not the visitor's identity.
No canopy surveillance
Deep Roots hangs no advertising microphones in the canopy, no behavioural analytics sensors on the bark, and no third-party cameras in the hollow trunks. The old forest is private.
The seed library (Google Fonts)
Our typefaces are cultivated from Google Fonts. Your browser's request to Google may include your IP. Their covenant governs what grows from that seed.
Young foresters
Deep Roots is a rich, patient game for all ages. No violent content, no gambling, no age restrictions. Every young forester is welcome beneath the canopy. We collect nothing from any player.
Covenant renewal
Should our practices shift like seasonal light through the trees, this covenant will be renewed and redated. Continued visits after any renewal mean you accept the updated terms.
